9/21-23 We arrived @ Sequoia RV Ranch on North Fork rd about 5 the site was uncrowded & looked out on a field - no cell coverage again so it was good that we stopped in Oakhurst south of Yosemite when there was full strength Internet. Peter contacted the office & looked through his email. I also got a chance to get caught up a little & talk with my sister Katie.
Peters cousin Jenny & her husband Gene came up from Bakersfield the next morning & took us to Sequoia National Park. We were so appreciative of Gene driving- the roads were narrower & had more hairpin turns than Yosemite!! We took a winding path up, up, up then took a stone staircase to the crest of a mountain well Peter & Gene did, when the path narrowed to a foot wide Jenny & I decided that the view was just fine. They got some pics so you will c the view from the top. It reminds me of being in Paris @ The Sacra Coeur last summer with Linda & Jeff VanWagenen. Jeff took my camera to the top & took some pics. We went to see the largest tree in the world - the Sequoia is named the General Sherman. To stand close to these trees & touch their soft sponge like bark makes me think that God must have smiled them into creation knowing that the Sequoias would bring we humans together in a sense of wonder & awe as we gazed on them.
