Liz's sister Jen & her husband Gene came in from Bakersfield CA for the weekend & Brian who lives Im Lafaette CO joined us for dinner We shared many Bowles family stories. ReplyDeleteHi Linda, Metamorphosis is a sculpture of a catapillar at the bottom and a butterfly at the top. It is done in Bronze but the original was done using a tree that had been storm damaged in the town of Sterling CO. The Sculpture was done by artist Bradford Rhea who is a resident of Sterling. There was a bad storm that came through and damaged many trees and he carved them into new creations. There is 1 that has several giraffe heads. The reason that it reminds me of my Mom is that in 1993 after the memorial service for her at Crescent Beach there was a Monarch butterfly that flew around the porch for hours that day & my sister-in-law Pat Bsrrett wrote a poem about it reminding her of Mom.
